The Indian Rubber Manufacturers Research Association, in short IRMRA, is one of the best-known laboratories for product testing in India. The laboratory’s testing spectrum is very broad and includes not only rubber and caoutchouc, but also related areas such as polymers, paints, chemicals and textiles. IRMRA is primarily known for high competencies in product testing and investigation, research and product\/mixture development, training and human resource development. Besides, IRMRA has diversified its activities into new challenging areas such as nano and latex technologies and rubber engineering. The success of IRMRA, which was founded as a small research institute back in 1958, is mainly due to its proximity to the Indian government. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry provides financial support for the establishment of the test centers, the procurement of test equipment and the continuous improvement of capacities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
