Market Surveillance in India<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The authorities BIS and TEC, and occasionally other authorities, always carry out market surveillance in India. This means that after certification, the authority reserves the right to continue testing the certified products by purchasing them on the market. The authority wants to ensure that the products remain in the same condition as during certification and are placed on the market with the same quality and price as initially stated during the inspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What exactly are the consequences?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If the implementing authority finds that the products purchased on the market are different from the certified products, the certificate may be questioned and possibly withdrawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should be noted that this concerns the right to obtain new test samples on the market. It remains to be seen whether the authority will exercise this right or provide the finances to do so. It is also unclear what happens to industrial products that cannot be purchased “on the market” itself, but only directly from the manufacturer, and only from companies. Nevertheless, it is of course necessary for certified companies to be prepared for the possibility of testing outside the manufacturer’s control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
