Geänderter Implementierungszeitplan für BIS-Zertifizierung nach Scheme X für Maschinen und elektrische Geräte in Indien

Das indische Ministerium für Schwerindustrie hat eine Änderung zur Verordnung über die Sicherheit von Maschinen und elektrischen Geräten (Omnibus Technical Regulation) aus dem Jahr 2024 veröffentlicht. Gemäß der neu erlassenen Änderungsverordnung von 2025 wurde der Zeitplan für die Umsetzung der Vorschriften verlängert. Insbesondere wurde die ursprüngliche Klausel, die eine Umsetzung ein Jahr nach Veröffentlichung vorsah, durch ein festes Datum ersetzt – den 1. September 2026. Diese Änderung wirkt sich auf den Zeitrahmen für die verpflichtende Zertifizierung und regulatorische Einhaltung bei Maschinen und elektrischen Produkten aus, die unter die Verordnung fallen. Im Zuge der geplanten regulatorischen Anpassungen wird für viele Arten von Maschinen, Anlagen, Pumpen und anderen Produkten eine BIS-Zertifizierung nach Scheme X erforderlich sein, um für den Import und Verkauf in Indien zugelassen zu werden.

Additionally, the updated regulation clarifies that while the main categories of machines and electrical equipment listed in the First Schedule will become subject to the order starting September 1, 2026, the associated assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components will only become regulated from dates that the Central Government will announce separately via official notification. This ensures phased compliance and provides stakeholders more time to adjust to the regulatory changes.

Since 2012, the BIS has been gradually expanding the certification catalog and continuously adding additional goods. BIS certification mandatory for many electronic products for industrial and consumer uses. Factory inspections are also required for some products.
